Common conditions worth checking

Beyond the walkaround, a quick pass on:

• Tyres: including the spare. Tread and obvious damage.
• Lights: headlights, indicators, brake lights, hazards.
• Wipers and washer fluid.
• Air conditioning: turn it on. This is the single most common complaint in a hot climate.
• Warning lights on the dash after starting.
• Registration and insurance documents actually in the vehicle.
